Gold Standard Deep Clean Inclusion

Interior window cleaning — inside glass, window tracks, window sills, and interior blinds — is included in every FCPE Gold Standard Deep Clean. It is never quoted as a separate add-on. This is what the Gold Standard means.

What Is Included in Every Deep Clean

When FCPE's trained interior specialists complete a Gold Standard Deep Clean, every window surface in the home receives attention — not just the obvious ones. The full scope includes:

Inside Glass

Two-pass process: initial cleaning pass followed by a final lint-free microfiber buff for streak-free clarity. Distilled water is used on the final pass to prevent mineral spotting from NE Florida's hard well water.

Window Tracks

Detail brush loosens debris, followed by a vacuum extraction and a damp wipe of the track channel. Salt and pollen deposits accumulate in NE Florida window tracks and prevent windows from operating smoothly if not regularly maintained.

Window Sills

Full detail wipe including corners and the junction where the sill meets the wall. In homes with painted sills, appropriate care is taken with product selection to avoid stripping or dulling the finish.

Interior Blinds

Dusted and wiped, slat by slat, on horizontal blinds. Vertical blinds are individually wiped. Fabric or cellular shades are spot-cleaned where accessible. This is detail work that most general cleaning services skip entirely.

Interior Window Screens

Where screens are accessible from inside the home without tools, they are vacuumed and wiped. Screens are a primary pollen and salt-film accumulator in NE Florida homes, and a clean screen allows more visible light through the glass.

Why Interior Windows Matter in NE Florida Coastal Homes

Most homeowners associate window film with exterior glass — the algae, hard water spots, and UV haze that accumulate outside. But interior glass in NE Florida coastal homes develops its own film problem from two sources that are specific to this climate.

Salt air from the Atlantic and Intracoastal Waterway infiltrates every home through normal ventilation, HVAC system cycling, and door and window gaps. Over time, fine salt particles deposit on interior glass surfaces, creating a hazy film that scatters light and reduces visibility. This film is invisible in low light but becomes distinctly noticeable in direct morning or afternoon sun — it is often the first thing a homeowner notices when windows suddenly look dull despite never having been rained on inside.

Kitchen and bathroom windows develop a secondary contamination from humidity, cooking vapors, and airborne grease particulate. This oily film bonds more tenaciously to glass than salt alone and requires a slightly different cleaning approach than living area windows. FCPE's interior specialists identify these different glass conditions in each room and apply the correct cleaning solution for each surface.

The Gold Standard Difference: Distilled Water Final Pass

Northeast Florida has notoriously hard well water in many communities, particularly in St. Johns County. Well water with high mineral content leaves white calcium spots on glass whenever it evaporates — replacing one form of residue with another. Homes on city water are less affected, but the problem is widespread enough that FCPE standardized on distilled water for the final glass pass on all interior window cleaning.

Distilled water has zero mineral content. When it evaporates on glass, it leaves nothing behind — producing the spot-free finish that is the signature result of a proper professional window cleaning. This is the difference between a clean window that looks clean and a cleaned window that develops new spots by afternoon. We do the extra step because it matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is interior window cleaning really included in the deep clean at no extra charge?

Yes — completely. Inside glass, tracks, sills, and blinds are part of every Gold Standard Deep Clean. FCPE does not offer interior window cleaning as a separate line item because it is foundational to what a deep clean means. A clean home that has dirty windows is not a clean home. We have never quoted window cleaning separately, and we will not start now.

What about outside windows? Is that included too?

Exterior window washing is a separate exterior service and is not included in the interior deep clean. Interior windows are FCPE's housekeeping team's domain — the exterior is the exterior discipline's domain. If you are interested in exterior window cleaning in addition to interior housekeeping, we can schedule and price both.

How long does the window cleaning portion of a deep clean take?

Window detail time depends on the number of windows, the presence of blinds, and how long the home has been between deep cleans. In a home receiving its first FCPE deep clean, window detail typically adds 30 to 60 minutes to total service time compared to a maintenance-level recurring clean. We do not shortcut the window work to meet a time budget.

My windows have built-up salt film from years without cleaning. Can that be removed?

In most cases, yes. Light to moderate salt film and mineral haze responds well to professional cleaning. Severe etching — where salt has actually scratched the glass surface over many years — may require polishing beyond standard cleaning. FCPE will assess the glass condition during the estimate and be transparent about what is achievable before service begins.

How do I keep interior windows cleaner between deep cleans?

Run your HVAC fan through a high-quality filter (MERV 11 or better) to reduce the salt and pollen particulate load that deposits on glass. Wipe down kitchen window glass after heavy cooking. Keep window tracks clear of debris so windows seal properly. Between FCPE recurring visits, a quick wipe with a lint-free cloth and a small amount of glass cleaner keeps most windows in good condition between professional service calls.
