Pool Deck Cleaning
& Surface Restoration

Surface-Appropriate Cleaning for St. Johns, Duval & Nassau Counties

Your pool deck is where your family relaxes, entertains, and enjoys Florida living — but algae, mold, calcium deposits, and organic staining turn it into a slippery, unsightly hazard faster than almost any other surface on your property. We clean concrete, pavers, travertine, and natural stone pool decks with surface-appropriate methods that restore safety and appearance without damaging finishes or pool equipment.

Why Professional Pool Deck Cleaning Matters

Pool decks face a unique combination of challenges: constant moisture, chlorine splash, sunscreen and body oil residue, irrigation overspray, and Florida's aggressive biological growth cycle. The result is a surface that can go from inviting to hazardous in a matter of months.

Algae and mold on wet pool decks create serious slip hazards — especially for children and elderly guests. According to the CDC, falls are a leading cause of non-fatal injuries, and slippery outdoor surfaces are a major contributing factor.

Regular professional cleaning keeps your outdoor living space safe, extends the life of your surface material, and keeps the area entertainment-ready year-round.

Pool Deck Surface Types We Clean

Each material requires different cleaning methods, chemistry, and pressure levels

🏗️

Concrete Pool Decks

Poured, stamped, or textured concrete — cleaned with our 10 GPM surface cleaner system. Pre-treated for algae, mold, and calcium deposits from pool water splash.

🧱

Paver Pool Decks

Concrete pavers need careful cleaning that doesn't dislodge joint sand. We clean the surface while preserving sand integrity. For full restoration, add paver sanding & sealing.

🪨

Travertine Pool Decks

Travertine is acid-sensitive — we use only pH-neutral cleaners and appropriate pressure to avoid etching. Pairs perfectly with travertine sealing for lasting protection.

💎

Natural Stone (Limestone, Bluestone, Slate)

Each stone type demands specific chemistry and pressure calibration per the Natural Stone Institute guidelines. We identify your stone during inspection and select matched products.

🎨

Cool Deck / Kool Deck / Acrylic Overlay

Textured overlay surfaces require lower pressure and careful chemistry to avoid delamination or color damage. We adjust our approach for the coating type and condition.

🔲

Pool Coping & Water Line

Coping stones, bullnose edges, and water-line tile accumulate calcium scale and chlorine deposits. We address these during pool deck cleaning for a complete finished appearance.

Pool-safe chemistry. Surface-matched pressure. Complete restoration.

I

Surface Assessment & Pool Protection

We identify your deck material, note stain types and problem areas, and protect your pool water, equipment, landscaping, and outdoor furniture from chemical contact and debris runoff.

II

Pre-Treatment for Algae, Mold & Calcium

Organic growth receives surface-appropriate chemistry. Calcium deposits from pool water are treated with targeted agents matched to your deck material — acid-based for concrete, pH-neutral for natural stone and travertine.

III

Surface Cleaning with Appropriate Pressure

Concrete receives full pressure with our 10 GPM surface cleaner. Pavers are cleaned at calibrated pressure to preserve joint sand. Natural stone and overlay surfaces receive reduced pressure with wider fan tips to clean without etching or damaging finishes.

IV

Edge Detail, Coping & Drain Areas

Coping edges, expansion joints, drain channels, and the transition between deck and landscaping receive targeted attention. These are the areas most crews overlook — and where algae returns fastest.

V

Post-Treatment, Rinse & Final Inspection

A post-treatment rinse neutralizes chemistry and provides residual protection against rapid regrowth. We clear debris from the pool area, rinse adjacent surfaces, and walk the deck to ensure even, streak-free results before departing.

Pool Deck Cleaning FAQs

Will the cleaning chemicals affect my pool water?

We take specific precautions to minimize chemical contact with pool water — including runoff management, spray direction control, and neutralizing rinses. Most pools require no chemical adjustment after our service. If your pool water chemistry does shift slightly, a minor adjustment by your pool service will resolve it.

Can you clean inside my screen enclosure?

Yes. We clean pool decks inside screen enclosures regularly. We use appropriate pressure and methods that clean the deck surface without damaging screen panels, frames, or spline. Screen enclosure washing itself is available through our soft washing service.

Will pressure washing damage my travertine pool deck?

It can — if done incorrectly. Travertine requires lower pressure, wider fan tips, and pH-neutral cleaning chemistry. We never use acid-based cleaners on travertine or limestone. Our approach cleans effectively without etching, pitting, or dulling the natural stone finish. See our travertine sealing page for additional protection options.

Should I have the pool deck cleaned or sealed first?

Always cleaned first. Sealer needs to be applied to a clean, bare surface for proper penetration and adhesion. We can clean and seal in a coordinated sequence — the cleaning visit preps the surface, and sealing follows once the deck is dry. See our sanding & sealing page for full details.

Do I need to clear furniture before your arrival?

Yes — please move furniture, grills, planters, and décor off the deck area before we arrive. If heavy items remain in place and must be moved by our crew, an additional handling fee may apply. We also ask that pool covers be removed and sprinklers turned off 24 hours before service.

How soon can we use the pool after cleaning?

The pool itself can typically be used the same day. We recommend staying off the deck surface for 2–4 hours after service to allow post-treatment chemistry to work and the surface to dry. We'll give you specific timing based on your surface type and weather conditions.
